Bianchi Sempre placed fifth at Tour of California, the stage-race run in the US on
May 13th-20th. His team-mate
Darwin Atapuma Hurtado was 16th overall and third in the Mountains classification.

126 km from Ontario to Mt. Baldy, taking second and third position respectively. Atapuma went really close to his second seasonal victory on Bianchi Sempre, after the epic one under the snow on
Pordoi top at Giro del Trentino: Colombia's rider leaded the race until the last kilometer, then sprinted for victory with Robert Gesink. Duarte completed the podium, thanks to a great recovery on the last uphill, where he got ahead of the
further runaways and crossed the finish line one minute and 14 seconds behind Gesink and Atapuma.
