The official
presentation

The official
presentation of the Liquigas-Bianchi team, held
on 25 January at the EastEnd Studios in
Milan, opened the season of the green-Celeste
team. The team, counting on 26 riders,
has all it takes to do well in any kind of race.
They can count not only on Mario Cipollini’s
skill in sprinting but also on promising sprinters
like Pagliarini and Zanotti.
For stage races Liquigas-Bianchi will place their
hopes in Garzelli, Cioni and
Pellizotti. They can also have
great expectations for the Classics thanks to
Backstedt and Di Luca.
The Liquigas-Bianchi riders paraded on the stage
of the EastEnd Studios all together with the team
director Roberto Amadio and the
team managers Stefano Zanatta, Dario Mariuzzo
and Roberto Damiani. The former
gregario and friend of Mario Cipollini, Mario
Scirea will get on the team car too as vice-team
manager.
The three captains of the team Mario Cipollini,
Stefano Garzelli and Danilo Di Luca, made a spectacular
entrance: they “jumped” out
of a lift riding their Frecccia Celeste bikes
and went on stage in triumph. Moreover, a Freccia
Celeste Bianchi was in the middle of the stage
during the presentation. It was undoubtedly the
photographers’ favourite subject.
Davide Brambilla, managing director
of Bianchi, reminded that Bianchi enjoyed great
success in its 120-year cycling story. High-technology
materials, endless research and innovation, more
than a century of experience and an extraordinary
design: these are the essential ingredients making
Bianchi bikes jewels champions can’t renounce.
Again in 2005 race season, in the first
year of the Pro Tour age, Bianchi is ready to
challenge for the victory. |
